Yes. You must pay your Medicare Part B premium when enrolled in either type of plan.
Medicare Advantage (MA) plans cover the benefits associated with both Medicare Part A and Part B (except for hospice care, which Part A covers) and may come with a monthly premium for coverage; however, you must also continue to pay your Part B premium. To qualify for a Medicare Advantage plan, you must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B, so you will already be paying and will continue to pay your Part B premium.
Similarly, if have a Medigap (Medicare Supplement) plan, you need to be enrolled in both Medicare Part A and Part B, and continue paying your Part B premium. You’re typically also responsible for a monthly premium for your Medigap coverage.
Most beneficiaries pay the standard Part B premium amount, but those with higher incomes may pay more.
