Medicare Supplement Plans - Plan D

How Does Plan D Differ From Other Medigap Plans?

You might say that Medigap Plan D can be seen as a "middle point" between the minimum amount of Medicare Supplement benefits (Plan A) and the maximum amount of Medicare Supplement benefits (Plan F). The main differences between Plan D and Plan F are that Plan D does not have coverage for the Medicare Part B deductible and Medicare Part B 'excess charges."

It is important to note that Medigap Plan D is medical insurance and should not be confused with the prescription drug benefit known as Medicare Part D. Medigap Plan D is private insurance to reduce the out-of-pocket costs associated with Medicare Parts A & B. Medicare Part D is private insurance to cover prescription medication.
